Knight Ridder/San Jose Mercury News |
The San Jose Mercury News, the "voice of Silicon Valley," had a problem: how to train its new hire advertising account reps. This was a high turnover position and it was not possible to offer classroom instruction. The Sales Training Department had only $20,000 to spend on its training solution. |

We developed a ten-module online course for $20,000 (the online template already existed and we merely had to tweak it). The Sales Training Manager provided the content based on our questions, which solicited content for each module's objectives. |

The course was implemented and used by new hires whenever needed. As a result of the success of this course, the parent company, Knight Ridder, had The Training Alliance customize this course for several of their other newspapers. Additionally, Knight Ridder commissioned The Training Alliance to design a new template and sales module for use by all of their newspapers. |
